WWE Raw ring announcer Samantha Irvin has become rather popular among fans and those in the company for the way she pronounces many of the names of the wrestlers on the brand.
In particular, it’s Samantha’s pronunciations of Imperium and Chelsea Green that most people consider her best work.
With Chelsea in particular, the way her name is pronounced was an idea from Samantha herself, but Chelsea ‘trained’ her to say her name that way.
Speaking at San Diego Comic Con, Chelsea said:
“It was and it’s so so good, but you are going to see that I trained her for a little bit. It will be exclusive on TikTok. I’ll let you know when that’s live. I gave her a little training, a little vocal training, and a good warm up.”
Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville became the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions on this week’s episode of Raw, defeating Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
WWE are said to be ‘optimistic’ about Chelsea and Sonya’s reign as the champions, hoping they can bring ‘stability’ to the division.
