Dakota Kai & More NXT Stars Work Matches For This Week’s WWE Main Event

Dakota Kai was one of four NXT stars who worked matches for this week’s episode of WWE Main Event before last night’s Raw.

Dakota Kai – who challenges Raquel Gonzalez for the NXT Women’s Championship on August 22 at TakeOver – lost to Aliyah prior to Raw last night.

Aliyah is officially a main roster talent now but hasn’t made her TV debut. She was said to be called up as part of an ‘exchange’ with Mandy Rose going to NXT.

The other match for Main Event this week saw Odyssey Jones pick up a win over Austin Theory, which is a match that has been happening before most main roster shows as of late.

Many NXT talents have been having ‘tryout’ main roster dark matches recently, with most of those having already been called up, with the exception of Bronson Reed who was released instead.

There was another pre-show match before Raw, which was Keith Lee picking up a quick win over Chico Adams, but that wasn’t taped for Main Event.
