AEW
An update has emerged on the expiry date of Danhausen’s AEW contract amid his ongoing absence from television.
First signed by AEW in January 2022, Danhausen’s popularity from the independent scene translated to AEW screens, with the “Very Nice, Very Evil” star becoming a fan favorite and merchandise mover.
After missing much of 2023 with injury, the 35-year-old returned to TV briefly at the end of the year, with his last match on AEW programming being a Battle Royal on the Zero Hour pre-show of AEW Worlds End 2023.
While he would make a surprise return at ROH Final Battle 2024 last December, this would prove to be his last appearance for Tony Khan to date.
With Danhausen raising eyebrows with some of his recent social media activity, a new update has emerged regarding his AEW contract status, courtesy of Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp.
According to SRS and Fightful Select, Danhausen’s contract is due to expire around February 2026, according to AEW sources.
It was previously reported that Danhausen’s AEW contract was due to expire in the Summer of this year, but the company extended it due to injury time.
In one of the more surprising developments regarding Danhausen’s future, The Rock is reportedly among the names with WWE who are a fan of Danhausen’s gimmick.
We will provide more updates on Danhausen’s future as/when more information becomes available.
