WWE stars Danhausen and Paul Heyman have reacts to the Knicks and what can only be described as the greatest comeback in NBA playoff history.
June 10 saw the New York Knicks take on the San Antonio Spurs, with the former going from a 29 point deficit to a 107-106 victory in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, giving the team a 3-1 lead, and leaving them just one win away from claiming their first NBA Championship since 1973.
The incredible rally to take the victory saw Danhausen, who had previously cursed the Cleveland Cavaliers, with the Knicks being victorious in Game 1, respond to the astounding win, tweeting:
“Do not doubt Danhausen.
“Do not doubt KNICKSHAUSEN.”
All this after Danhausen had previously placed a curse on Knicks fan and ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith, seeing the team go on to struggle against the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA Playoffs.
Paul Heyman would reflect on the storytelling during last night’s game, reiterating the “greatest comeback ever” mindset, tweeting:
“I think it’s time we all recognize the NBA has a great creative team and writers. Wow. What a story!
“Texas heels rout hometown heroes in the 1st half at the World’s Most Famous Arena (@TheGarden), only for the babyfaces to perform the greatest comeback EVER! My compliments!”
Among those celebrating the Knicks’ victory at Madison Square Garden was Taylor Swift, Ben Stiller, Spike Lee, Jerry Seinfeld, Larry David, and Timothee Chalamet, who was in attendance with his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.
The Rise of Danhausen
Since first appearing on WWE television back at Elimination Chamber, Danhausen has gone on to be one of the hottest stars in the company, with Triple H and Nick Khan both addressing his popularity.
Already one of the top merch sellers, having only been on WWE screens since February of this year, Danhausen would share his insights on marketability during the recent Lodestone seminar of women’s wrestlers organized by Bayley.
The success of Danhausen in WWE has seen the star break out from his weekly appearances, as can be seen by his appearance on ESPN, cursing Stephen A. Smith.
An easily identifiable character, Danhausen has also recently signed with Adventure Media, a marketing company, with the goal of expanding his ” IP in film, TV, digital, publishing and other business ventures.” A shrewd businessman who created success on the independent scene beyond his matches, it’s not difficult to see Danhausen occupying media spaces beyond WWE.
