A new report has revealed the details on a departed AEW star’s “fractured” relationship with AEW President Tony Khan.
On November 27, QT Marshall announced his resignation from All Elite Wrestling after over four years with the promotion as a wrestler, producer and several other roles. The news was a surprise for some fans as Marshall has been such a crucial backstage name in the development of AEW since its inception in 2019.
Marshall was last featured on AEW programming as part of the QTV stable along with Powerhouse Hobbs on Collision.
WrestlePurists reports that sources in AEW have said CM Punk didn’t want QT Marshall to be part of Collision and didn’t see QTV as a productive part of Powerhouse Hobbs’ presentation.
The report notes that Tony Khan took the brunt of the blame for the removal of the QTV segments, which ultimately fractured Khan’s relationship with Marshall.
Also noted, QT Marshall also felt that there was a lack of transparency on the reasoning why the QTV segments were removed from AEW Collision.
Marshall is under the belief that Punk removed him from the show, and didn’t believe Tony Khan when he took the fall for the move.
WrestleTalk will provide further updates on QT Marshall’s AEW departure when they become available.
