‘Disappointing’ Viewership For Mercedes Mone/Sasha Banks AEW Debut Revealed

‘Disappointing’ Viewership For Mercedes Mone/Sasha Banks AEW Debut Revealed AEW

The viewership figures for Mercedes Mone’s (fka Sasha Banks) AEW debut and the number has been dubbed ‘disappointing’.

Noting that the viewership figure revealed as just over 800k total, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer broke the news.

Taking to Twitter to share the figures, Meltzer wrote:

“AEW did 801K/0.27 last night. Obviously disappointing numbers. Third for the night, Regarding the question on last night’s show if people figured out Mone would be back later in the show, they clearly did not as the main event did not do well.”

While existing fans of AEW and/or professional wrestling fans plugged into social media may have felt it was clear Mercedes Mone would be debuting on Dynamite, she was never actually advertised to appear at the show.

Despite being dubbed a ‘disappointment’ by Meltzer, the show still saw an improvement over last week’s total viewership of 779,000 viewers for the March 6, 2024 edition coming off of AEW Revolution.

In Mercedes Mone’s debut in AEW she both opened the show with an in-ring promo as well as came back to make the save in the closing angle after a women’s main event match saw Willow Nightingale best Riho.
