WrestleTalk is saddened to learn that former IMPACT Wrestling announcer Don West has passed away at aged 59.
The announcement was made by Mike Tenay on Twitter, who said:
Just heard from wife Terri that our brother @DonWestDeals will be spending New Years in heaven. Terri said D-Dub finally had to tap out from his match with lymphoma. We bonded as soon as we met, both as broadcast partners and friends. Years of great moments both on and off camera
West revealed back in June 2021 that he had been diagnosed with brain lymphoma, before announcing in September of that year that, following 8 weeks of chemotherapy and 13 treatments of radiation, his cancer was in remission.
In December 2021, it was revealed that West was battling lymphoma for a second time.
West worked for IMPACT Wrestling (formerly TNA Wrestling) from 2002 until 2012, most known for being the colour commentator for IMPACT alongside Tenay.
We send our condolences to the friends, family and fans of Don West at this time.
A GoFundMe page was set up in his wife’s name to help battle lymphoma, which can be found here.
