William Regal is undoubtedly one of the greatest professional wrestling minds on the planet and he proved tonight (March 9) on AEW Dynamite that he can still captivate on the microphone like never before.
William Regal made his debut on AEW Dynamite tonight, alongside Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson as they took on The WorkHorsemen (JD Drake and Anthony Henry) and after the match took to the microphone to share some touching words.
First addressing Tony Schiavone, Regal recounted their long history together but became tearful as he thanked him for the first time on camera for helping him.
Regal moved on to address Danielson, referring to him as “the perfect wrestler” and everything Regal could have been if he had not been plagued with issues.
Regal referenced facing his own demons several times throughout the promo, mentioning his long history of issues with alcoholism.
Regal ended the segment with a warning to everyone in the AEW locker room about going head to head with Danielson and Moxley: “Just a warning to every single person that steps in the ring with them: you will not like the outcome. You’ll either step up or you’ll get stepped on.”
