Ex-WWE Star Wants To Face Randy Orton

Ex-WWE Star Wants To Face Randy Orton WWE

A former WWE star has expressed his desire to face off with Randy Orton in a one-on-one match, almost a decade since they last worked together.

With Randy Orton recently returning from an 18 month injury layoff at WWE Survivor Series 2023, he now has many brand new faces to stand across the ring from.

However, now one name from his past has discussed his regret at not having ever got a chance to face The Viper in singles action.

Speaking to The Edlow Podcast, former WWE and now IMPACT Wrestling star Santino Marella said:

“I would like to have maybe a singles match with Randy Orton just ’cause he’s a really good friend of mine.”

“We always talked about wrestling each other because we used to ride together.”

Despite never facing off in direct competition the two did share a ring for big multi-man matches.

Marella continued, telling a story of one such instance and why he felt they would have made a good pairing between the ropes:

“There was one time we were in a battle royal together, and then ding-ding-ding I started looking for him … just messing with each other and he’s trying, ‘Don’t make me laugh, man.'”

“I think we’d have been good because he’s so good, right, and I think we could’ve had legitimately some really good matches and stuff.”

Orton is set for his first appearance on Raw since May 2022 on tonight’s episode from Nashville, TN (November 27), along with his fellow returnee CM Punk.

Punk’s return at Survivor Series was his first in almost a decade, with his last match in WWE being the 2014 Royal Rumble.
