A former WWE star has shared an emotional tribute to WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus following last Saturday’s WWE Payback event.
On the show, Trish took part in a Steel Cage match against Becky Lynch, serving as a payoff to their months long rivalry that kicked off back in April.
The match was Trish’s first Steel Cage match of her career, and the two women paid homage to the two women who took part in the first women’s Steel Cage match, Lita and Victoria.
During the match, Becky hit a Twist of Fate as a homage to Lita, while Trish hit Victoria’s Widow’s Peak finisher.
Taking to Twitter after the show, Victoria shared her appreciation to Trish for the shoutout in the match.
She wrote:
“I don’t know where to begin. I want to thank @trishstratuscom and @wwe for the huge homage. I’m beyond honored and flattered for the love. Trish has been such an amazing friend and supporter of mine. I am beyond grateful. I love you so much Trish. @beckylynchwwe and you had such a beautiful match. I’m so very proud of you both. Words can not express how touched I am.”
Victoria accompanied a video, where she said:
“I just want to say thank you Trish doing the Widow’s Peak on the show Payback.
“I am so proud of you, I love you so much, you’re so important to me. Gosh, our history, man, holy moly. The stories, oh gosh. But I just want to say I love you so much and thank you.”
