Former WWE Star’s AEW Debut Announced

The AEW debut of a former WWE star has been officially announced for next week’s (October 20) episode of AEW Rampage.

Taking to Twitter today, Tony Khan announced that next week’s episode of Rampage will feature Rocky Romero taking on CMLL’s Mistico for ‘Mexico’s Pound-For-Pound Crown’.

Mistico lore can be quite hard to keep track of, but this Mistico is indeed the original Mistico, also the original Sin Cara in WWE.

On the match, Khan wrote:

Next Friday, 10/20 Houston Friday Night #AEWRampage On @TNTdrama at 10pm ET/9pm CT

Mexico’s Pound-For-Pound Crown @caristicomx vs @azucarRoc

MISTICO debuts in a grudge match vs Rocky Romero, 10/20 on Rampage!

Stay tuned to @AEWonTV to learn the history between these CMLL icons!

Tony has also announced an ROH Television Championship match for this week’s Collision, with Samoa Joe set to take on Willie Mack.

Also announced today was a match for next week’s AEW Dynamite between Jay White and Penta El Zero Miedo.
