After weeks of speculation, a new report has revealed another top free agent name and former WWE star is on their way to AEW.
According to Fightful Select, All Elite Wrestling is set to sign Shane “Swerve” Strickland aka “Sw3rve The Realest”.
Wrestling Observer previously noted that Swerve was expected to join AEW, but never confirmed instead saying “there’s a very good chance he’s coming in”.
Since January, AEW has been operating under the assumption that the former Isaiah Swerve Scott would sign a deal with it coming into effect during the first week of March.
The report also notes that All Elite Wrestling view Swerve as a potential crossover star. There have been numerous discussions over the past year for additional WarnerMedia shows for AEW stars.
As previously noted, Swerve has received plenty of intrigues from multiple companies. He recently discussed the rumor with us at WrestleTalk.
Strickland is scheduled to appear for GCW and recently made an appearance for New Japan Pro Wrestling. It was confirmed that he doesn’t have a deal with either.
We will have further updates on Shane “Swerve” Strickland when they become available.
