WWE star Baron Corbin has recently used his free agent status to return to NXT, where he is in the midst of a character shift.
Corbin was seen burning his past following his NXT Championship match defeat to Carmelo Hayes on night two of NXT Gold Rush.
Speaking about Corbin on his Hall of Fame podcast, WWE Hall of Famer and NXT announcer Booker T discussed Corbin’s character shift, and how he likes the ongoing shift of the Lone Wolf.
He wrote:
“I really like [the use of Baron Corbin in ‘NXT’], too, I really do. I really like the vignette; it really puts him in a new light.
“Sometimes on the main roster, you can get stuck in a rut. I hate this term — ‘We ain’t got nothing for you.’ When you start hearing that, that’s a problem. For Baron Corbin to be back in ‘NXT’ to re-invent himself all over again.
“Those packages go a long way and, for me, I’ve always been a Baron Corbin fan, always been, just because he’s been that heel’s heel for me.”
Corbin is set to be in action at NXT Great American Bash, when he will face Gable Steveson in the Olympian’s first match in WWE.
