Before Full Gear many people speculated that Hangman Adam Page could turn heel on Cody and the rest of The Elite during Rhodes’ match with Chris Jericho for the AEW World Championship.
This came after it was hinted on AEW: Dynamite and various episodes of Being The Elite that Page was heading for a split from the group.
Although there was a heel turn on the show, it was MJF who decided to betray Cody instead of Hangman.
Despite this, Hangman has still split from the group on the latest episode of Being The Elite uploaded to YouTube.
On the episode, Hangman told the group that following some major loses over the last few months, he feels like he needs to “ride alone”:
“I lost to Jericho, I lost to PAC. I have been the least successful guy in this group and I can’t do it anymore! I can’t do this guys. I’m sorry guys, we’re still cool, but I’m gonna ride alone for a while. I’m sorry guys.”
It is still possible that Hangman could turn on The Elite on Dynamite. It will be interesting to see how the story on this week’s BTE translates to TV on Wednesday night.
On the same episode of Being The Elite, it was revealed that fellow Elite member Matt Jackson has suffered an injury and is currently not cleared to compete.
