Homicide On Match With Moxley At GCW Wrld: ‘We’re Going To Tear It Up’

After the long-awaited return of Jon Moxley to AEW this week comes a huge match with independent star, Homicide.

While GCW has been receiving mainstream attention of late with multiple AEW stars appearing for the promotion’s the WRLD event at Hammerstein Ballroom tonight (January 23) the man who will be challenging Jon Moxley for the GCW World Championship, Homicide is speaking out.

In discussing what to expect from the match, Homicide told Sports Illustrated:

“I’ll be going 187% on Sunday. It’s going to be emotional, it’s going to be physical, and we’re going to tear it up.

“My time is almost over, but I plan on going out in style. This Sunday is going to be a big blast.”

Homicide has had previous experience working with AEW stars, noting his appearance on AEW Rampage Grand Slam from Arthur Ashe Stadium in September where he aided Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley in their match against Lance Archer and Minoru Suzuki, saying:

“Pro wrestling’s backbone is the independent circuit, so I’m grateful for the chance to work this big a show for GCW, especially in New York. And, you know, I’m grateful for Mox. He’s the one that brought me to All Elite Wrestling last September

“I was visiting the boys in AEW at Arthur Ashe Stadium, and a bunch of them surrounded me and said, ‘You’re doing something with us.’ I said I didn’t even have my gear. Mox said, ‘I don’t care, you’re doing something with us tonight.’ That Rampage aired the same night I wrestled a GOAT in Minoru Suzuki at a GCW show in Queens. I felt like Rick Rude when he was on Raw and Nitro on the same night. I’m thankful Mox made that happen.”

The Wrld On GCW at Hammerstein Ballroom currently features a stacked card with Jon Moxley versus Homicide for the GCW World Championship, Matt Cardona with Chelsea Green versus Joey Janela, Jeff Jarrett versus Effy, and Ruby Soho versus Allie Katch amongst others.
