Huge NXT Match Being Planned For WrestleMania?

WWE are reportedly considering including a major NXT match at WrestleMania 37.

NXT has had an ever-increasing presence at WWE pay-per-views in recent years. Featuring prominently at previous Survivor Series, Royal Rumble and WrestleMania events, there has been speculation over NXT stars appearing at WrestleMania 37 in April.

WWE are reportedly thinking about showcasing The Gold Brand in a major match at WrestleMania this year. According to WrestleVotes, there are people high up in the company who are playing with the idea of having Finn Bálor and the NXT Championship feature heavily on the show.

WrestleVotes took to Twitter report the news:

“Full disclosure, I don’t know where discussions stand at this point… However, I do know that several people, including some high up personnel, have talked about having Finn Balor & the NXT Championship on the WrestleMania card this year. Especially considering it’s 2 nights.”

Rhea Ripley and the NXT Women’s Championship featured prominently at WrestleMania 36, with Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair challenging for (and winning) the NXT title on the second night of last year’s event.

There has never been an NXT Championship match at WrestleMania before, however this week Edge appeared on NXT to tease a match between himself and Finn Bálor or Pete Dunne.

Bálor of course is experienced on The Grandest Stage Of Them All, wrestling for the Intercontinental Championship at both WrestleMania 34 and 35. If he remains NXT Champion through to April, there is every chance we could see NXT’s top prize feature on The Show of Shows.
