Final Battle has had another match announced as Bully Ray will wrestle Flip Gordon in an “I Quit” match. Ring of Honor‘s final show of the year will be Final Battle on December 14th and it will emanate from the historic Hammerstein Ballroom.
This will be only the second ever singles match between the two following their match at Best in the World. This will be the culmination of the storyline between Bully Ray and Gordon that began at Supercard of Honor XII.
Bully Ray was the commissioner turned heel at Supercard of Honor XII when he turned on Cheeseburger during their impromptu tag match. Bully Ray then declared that it was wrestlers like Cheeseburger and Gordon who destroyed the wrestling industry. Since then, Bully Ray has gone on to challenge any wrestler he deems spoiled and entitled.
Flip Gordon defeated Bully Ray via disqualification at Best in the World in June. Then later, Gordon last eliminated Ray to win the Over Budget Battle Royal on the ALL IN pre-show securing a title shot at Jay Lethal’s ROH World Championship. This match will likely be the culmination of their eight month storyline.
The updated card for Final Battle is as follows:
- ROH World Championship – Jay Lethal (c) vs. Cody
- ROH TV Championship – Jeff Cobb (c) vs. Hangman Page
- “I Quit” Match – Bully Ray vs. Flip Gordon
- Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Jonathan Gresham
- Matt Taven vs. Dalton Castle
- Women of Honor Championship – Sumie Sekai (c) vs. Madison Rayne vs. Karen Q vs. TBD
