Ilja Dragunov WWE Return Update After Eight Months Away WWE

An update has emerged on Ilja Dragunov, with rumors swirling about his potential return after eight months out of action.

Dragunov hasn’t wrestled since September 2024, with an ACL injury putting him on the shelf.

While reports indicated that he was spotted training at the WWE Performance Center in January, we’ve now had our first updates on the Russian star in a while.

WrestleVotes noted in a recent Q&A session that Dragonov was at the Performance Center six weeks ago, noting:

“Last I heard of him was about six weeks ago now, and he was down at the PC. I don’t know if he was doing anything inside the ring, I know he was there.

“Usually, that indicates things are getting closer, so maybe soon, but I can’t say for sure.”

Cory Hays of PWNexus has shared his own update, adding that Dragunov has since been “rehabbing multiple times a day”, in the hopes of returning as soon as possible. Hayes noted that no definitive return date or timetable was given.

There has been some speculation that Dragunov could be the mystery competitor advertised to be competing alongside Rusev, Sheamus and Bronson Reed in their upcoming King of the Ring first round fourway match.

the end of June will mark nine months since Ilja Dragunov’s last match, which was against GUNTHER at the September 28, 2024 WWE house show.

His most recent match on WWE TV saw him face off against Pete Dunne, Braun Strowman and eventual winner Jey Uso in an Intercontinental #1 contenders match on the September 9 Raw episode.

We will continue to provide updates on Ilja Dragunov’s status as they become available, and wish him the best for the rest of his recovery.
