It’s Happening
Ever since she joined Impact, weeks ago, we’ve all wanted to see Su Yung and Rosemary go head to head. I hope they don’t rush this feud, because I think it has a lot of potential.
So we were promised a match between Allie and Valkyrie for the Knockouts Championship. We got something, but it would honestly be kind to call it a match. They could have picked anyone other than Valkyrie for this role, even just using Su Yung in a rematch without Braxton Sutter at ringside could have worked to create a more compelling story. Allie got a clean victory, defending her title, against Valkyrie. Such a waste, because it really does a lot to harm Taya.
Anyway, with that out of the way. After the match Su Yung attacked Allie, only to be interrupted by Rosemary.
Su Yung’s entrance into this segment was brilliant, Undertaker-esque. It really added a lot to this character that we don’t yet know much about. I didn’t necessarily agree with her use of the pedigree as a move here. It felt a little clumsy, and it’s not a move I associate with her in any way… maybe that will change in time.
They dealt with this first interaction between the two really well. There was no physicality, just a stare down. It would be easy to rush this, but I think a lot of people will want to see where this goes, and the more care that is given to this feud the better.
Rosemary is beloved, and Su Yung isn’t quite there yet. I see Rosemary really helping pull Su Yung up to a higher level in the Knockouts division.
