Potential Energy

The show opened with the tag team title match, with DJZ and Andrew Everett challenging for the tag titles against Eli Drake and Scott Steiner.

The less I see of Steiner the better, I’ve said that before, but this match wasn’t the worst thing to happen in the week of wrestling.

Steiner was painful to watch, as was expected, but the others held a solid match – if not a bit slow, considering the potential energy of Z and E. For that matter, Potential Energy is a great Tag Team name.

The chair spot which led to their victory and becoming new Impact Tag Champions was predictable once Steiner had the foreign object out – but it worked well enough. It gives a good reason for Drake to turn on Steiner, which is what needs to happen here.

I’m happy for some real wrestlers to be holding the tag titles, but it does feel a little early for a tag team that has only just been formed.
