Insane Amount Of People Tried To Buy AEW Double Or Nothing Tickets

It’s fair to say that a lot of people are excited about the prospect of AEW, and no matter how many people on Twitter or Facebook moan, this could well be the biggest thing to happen in wrestling since WCW was around.

At the beginning of this week, fans were able to use pre-sale codes to buy pre-sale tickets for the first AEW show Double or Nothing. These pre-sale tickets were sold out almost immediately, leaving a lot of people relying on the general sale tickets which are released later today (February 13).

And when I say a lot of people, I mean A LOT of people.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that over 40,000 (40 thousand) people tried to buy pre-sale tickets within the first 30 minutes of them being available.

The put that into perspective, that’s four times as many seats as there are in the MGM Grand Arena where Double or Nothing is being held.

It isn’t known how many pre-sale tickets were available and how many more are available tonight, but the AEW website is going to have to be on standby for an avalanche of people desperate for tickets.

The exact number is said to be 43,500, which is more people than bought tickets for the Royal Rumble by a significant amount. Although the WWE’s generous attendance figures were at around 48,000, Dave Meltzer reports it was more like 40,000, with only 34,000 paid.

Anyone wanting to buy a ticket will need to be quick on the buzzer when general sale tickets go on sale tonight at 9am PST (5pm GMT, 12pm ET).
