Former AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill has commented on the backstage reaction within AEW to her leaving for WWE.
Cargill made her pro-wrestling in-ring debut in March 2021, teaming with Shaquille O’Neal to defeat Red Velvet and Cody Rhodes.
She then went on to establish herself as one of the most dominant competitors on the AEW women’s roster, amassing a 60-match undefeated streak in singles matches.
Many fans were surprised when Cargill chose to sign with WWE in September 2023, following Cargill being treated like a star in AEW.
Speaking with Fightful, Cargill noted that she left AEW in a professional manner.
Noting that everyone in AEW was happy for her, Cargill said:
“It’s all business, it’s all business. I left in a very loving, professional manner. I did what I had to do. Everybody was very elated for me, whether they figured something out or not.
“They were elated for me, they were happy for me. No ill feelings towards in any manner.”
Cargill made her WWE in-ring debut in the women’s Royal Rumble match, during which she eliminated Nia Jax, Becky Lynch and Naomi before making it to the final three.
The former AEW star has now officially joined the SmackDown brand and is set to appear on Friday’s (March 29) show.
