After missing the last few episodes of Dynamite, Jim Ross is set to make his return to television. Ross has been off television since the first empty arena episode of Dynamite, as his age puts him at increased risk during the coronavirus pandemic.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Ross will be doing commentary from home for the Jon Moxley vs. Jake Hager World Championship match. Here is the full quote:
“Jim Ross will be used as the commentator for this specific match, doing voiceovers from home, as it will be from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville while the rest of the show next week will be from Decatur, GA.”
The match will be Moxley’s first defence of the AEW World Championship. Since Hager’s in-ring debut at Revolution, he has not lost and has been set up as Moxley’s first challenger.
Ross has been working with All Elite Wrestling since Double or Nothing last year. The company did an episode of Road To… dedicated to his arrival in the promotion and he has been the voice of the company since.
