Jim Ross has now provided an update on Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler following his hospitalization.
Per PWInsider, Lawler suffered a medical episode at his condo in Florida on Monday afternoon (February 6).
There have been conflicting reports about the nature of Lawler’s issue, which PWInsider chose not to report on in their initial article.
PWInsider did state that the story that made the rounds was that Lawler had went for lunch with some friends, and sometime after the meal he took ill and was rushed to hospital.
Jim Ross has now taken to Twitter to note that he spoke with Lawler on Tuesday night (February 7), following his hospitalization.
Ross wrote:
I spoke very briefly with @JerryLawler tonight. He’s obviously weak but I could understand his affected speech.
Jerry’s prognosis is positive but he needs all our thoughts and prayers. #LoveYaKing
Lawler, who is 73 years old, most recently appeared for WWE at the January 28 Royal Rumble Kickoff show. His most recent public appearance was over the weekend at a signing in Florida.
Our thoughts are with the friends and family of Lawler at this time, and we wish Lawler a safe and healthy recovery.
