John Cena is officially a 17-time world champion, winning the WWE Championship from Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41.
The night two main event saw Cody Rhodes attempting to defend the title he won at last year’s WrestleMania against Cena.
The finishing sequence of the match came when the referee had been knocked down and Travis Scott made his entrance to FEIN.
With Scott now at ringside, he pulled the now-recovered referee out of the ring off a Rhodes pinfall attempt, which left the referee down and out once again.
Cena attempted to use the WWE Championship belt as a weapon, but Rhodes managed to grab it away from him.
However, at that point, Rhodes had a decision to make – use the belt to defend himself or do the ‘right thing’ and throw it away.
He went to do the right thing, but it ended up being the wrong decision as Cena struck him with a low blow then used the title belt.
There was no appearance from The Rock during the match or the event as a whole – the only outside interference came from Scott.
