WWE Hall of Famer Kane has spoken about how his political beliefs clashed with those of tag team partner Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan).
Kane – real name Glenn Jacobs – is currently the mayor of Knox County in Tennessee, where he has held the position since 2018.
He has come under fire from some for his Libertarian political views, including those on masks and vaccines during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Kane spoke of the way his right-wing political leanings interacted with the more liberal views of Bryan.
“Bryan and I are on such opposite ends of the political spectrum. But we respect each other as human beings and value each other’s opinions, so we had conversations and learned from each other. I learned a lot from Bryan, even if we didn’t always agree.
“Working with Bryan was probably the most fun I had in my entire wrestling career; that was because I was working with Daniel Bryan.”
Bryan currently wrestles in AEW under the name Bryan Danielson, as part of the Blackpool Combat Club stable along with Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli.
There is of course a lot of uncertainty surrounding the status of former BCC coach William Regal – read the latest on that and his potential move to WWE at this link.
