Top Star Calls For Wrestler ‘Transfers’ Between Top Companies WWE

A top NJPW star has offered the three top wrestling companies in Japan a beneficial wrestler ‘transfer’ idea in order to freshen up rosters and provide fresh opportunities for talent.

Speaking to Tokyo Sports, NJPW’s Kazuchika Okada suggested that his employer continue to build their new working relationship with AJPW and Pro Wrestling NOAH by normalising cross-company transfers.

Okada said:

“It would be better (for wrestlers) to transfer. Since the three organizations are working together, I think it would be interesting if we could try to have that kind of exchange.”

Okada spoke following the landmark All Together Again event on June 9, that saw all three top Japanese companies collaborate for the first time since 2012.

While a full-scale transfer system is merely an idea at this point in time, the companies have already seen an example of this as NOAH’s Kaito Kiyomiya is set to compete in this summer’s G1 Climax tournament.

Given the appeal of crossover events such as All Together Again, Forbidden Door and Multiverse United there has perhaps never been a more collaborative time in pro wrestling than now.

Speaking of Forbidden Door, Okada is one of two announced matches for the June 25 card, taking on The American Dragon Bryan Danielson in a long-awaited dream match.

Elsewhere on the card AEW’s Kenny Omega defends his IWGP United States Championship against NJPW’s Will Ospreay in a rematch from their WrestleKingdom 17 classic.

While only these two matches are confirmed, another major dream match decades in the making may be soon to follow, to find out more click here.
