Kenny Omega has recalled his classic match with Tetsuya Naito, revealing that he wants another match with the NJPW star.
Omega went one-on-one with Naito three times during his NJPW tenure. The duo notably met in the 2017 G1 Climax tournament final, with Naito ultimately picking up the victory.
Following the revelation that NJPW fans had voted this match the best of Naito’s career, Omega praised his former rival, before noting that he wants to avenge his loss one day.
Omega tweeted:
“I take the utmost pride in being so many athletes’ best match. The list is enormous. What matters most to me though, is that when we fought in the G1 Finals, I lost. I want to defeat him again on a big stage.”
Omega did win the duo’s last singles encounter, defeating Naito early on in the 2018 G1 Climax tournament.
