Kurt Angle’s Teenage Niece Found Safe After Abduction

Kurt Angle’s 16-year-old niece has been found safe after being abducted by her ex-boyfriend for the second time.

Marjani Aquil was abducted from her apartment on Wednesday (January 16) evening but was found after a police search at a home.

Officers forced their way inside of the home and rescued Aquil, who was taken to the hospital for treatment on minor injuries.

Following the rescue, Angle posted the following on Facebook.

“My niece has been found. Just wanted to say thank you to all those who have prayed and have shared posts to help locate her. Thank you to the Pittsburgh Police for your persistence in finding my niece. My family is truly appreciative. Love you all.”

Police found the suspect, 19-year-old Jermaine Laquay Rodgers, hiding in the cellar of the same house they found Aquil in. There was a stand-off with police but a SWAT team entered the house and Rodgers was taken into custody.

Police also found another missing child in the home, as well as a resident.

Police say Rodgers broke into Aquil’s home on Wednesday night, assaulted her and forced her into a red car.

As previously mentioned, this was the second time Rodgers had kidnapped Aquil in the past year as he was on probation for a similar incident in January 2018.
