Lars Sullivan’s Injury ‘Worse Than Originally Believed’

WWE’s resident “Freak” Lars Sullivan made his main roster debut just over a week ago at WWE Super ShowDown. The former NXT star won his three-on-one handicap match over Lucha House Party via DQ.

On Raw three days later, Sullivan once again defeated Lucha House Party, but this time in a far more convincing three-on-one handicap elimination match.

Sullivan was scheduled to continue his momentum with a win over Matt Hardy on Smackdown, but he was reportedly injured in his bout the night before, and the planned singles match was scrapped.

Dave Meltzer had the following to say regarding Sullivan’s situation in last week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

“Lars Sullivan was supposed to wrestle Matt Hardy, maybe they’ll do that next week because that was pulled because Lars Sullivan had a minor injury.”

However, Meltzer took to F4Wonline.com to say that Lars’ injury was not as minor as previously thought, and he will be having an MRI to determine its seriousness:

“The knee injury to Lars Sullivan that kept him off SmackDown Tuesday is worse than originally believed. There are no definitive details until he undergoes an MRI, but it doesn’t look like a small thing and he’ll be back Monday at this point.”

Sullivan will be at Raw on Monday, but this could just be for a check-up. WrestleTalk will provide more information on Lars’ situation if and when it becomes available.
