An update has emerged on Kenny Omega’s injury status, ahead of AEW Double or Nothing, and the Forbidden Door NJPW crossover show.
AEW is preparing for two of its biggest events of the year, with this year’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view slated for May 29. Just four weeks later, AEW and NJPW stars will be in action in Chicago for Forbidden Door on June 26.
Many fans have wondered if Kenny Omega will be fit to return to the ring for either of these events, following months on the shelf.
Per Dave Meltzer during a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, the last he heard, things don’t sound promising for Omega to return to action in May, indicating that it’s unlikely that Omega will wrestle at Double or Nothing.
Omega’s most recent match was at Full Gear in November 2021, dropping the AEW World Championship to Hangman Page. The former champion has been out of action since, undergoing multiple surgeries, and recovering from numerous injuries.
Kenny provided an extensive update on his recovery in February, which you can read about right here.
