Booker T made a surprise television return on last night’s SmackDown in a fun opening segment with New Day.
The trio were celebrating becoming five-time tag champions in WWE, which brought out the five-time (five-time, five-time) WCW Champion to ‘officially’ welcome them into the elite Five-Timers Club.
Booker made his entrance wearing a cape and crowd performing his popular ‘King Booker’ persona, a character that has not been seen in many years.
After an amusing exchange, Booker performed his crowd-pleasing Spineroonie, with each of the New Day then performing the move themselves. Xavier’s was good, Kofi’s was decent, Big E struggled and needed a helping hand from his partners.
Although Booker has been making noises about an in-ring return, this segment was not designed to lead towards that and there remain no plans to bring him back to the ring.
