Are you ready for an EXTREME time. We have a whole bunch of EXTREME matches on tap for tonight. Including Roman Reigns vs Finn Balor in an Extreme Rules match! Also… erm… Well the card is short and snappy, so it hopefully won’t go that long! The announced card for tonight is as followed:

  • Universal Championship Extreme Rules Match – Roman Reigns (c) w/ Paul Heyman vs ‘The Demon’ Finn Balor
  • SmackDown Women’s Championship – Becky Lynch (c) vs Bianca Belair
  • Raw Women’s Championship – Charlotte Flair (c) vs Alexa Bliss
  • SmackDown Tag Team Championship – The Usos (c) vs the Street Profits
  • United States Championship – Damian Priest (c) vs Sheamus vs Jeff Hardy
  • Liv Morgan vs Carmella

Universal Championship Match

Roman Reigns

Main event time. The champion is entering first tonight. Roman watches the Demon’s entrance, completely unimpressed. Roman takes it to the Demon, but he fights back right away.

Reigns whips out a kendo stick, but Finn pulls out four that he has stuck together. Balor obviously has the higher ground in their lightsaber duel. Finn pulls out a table to a big pop, but Roman jumps him and says “no tables”. Roman hammers into the Demon with a steel chair.

Roman and Finn brawl into the crowd. Roman has put on a face mask and is beating up the Demon on the kickoff desk. I love this man. Finn knocks Roman down and hits a Crossbody through a table in the crowd. Roman still has his mask on. They get back into the ring and Finn has set up a table. Roman has lost his mask. Roman gives him a Uranage through the table, but the Demon powers out.

Roman is getting all fired up and shouting at the crowd. He goes for a Spear but Balor kicks him and nails a Slingblade. He goes for the Shotgun Dropkick but is caught with a Spear. Balor kicks out at two, and delivers the low blow on the kick out like Reigns did to him on SmackDown.

Balor now wipes him out with a dive to the outside, before nailing the Coup De Grace, but the Usos pull Balor off. The bring out another table and go to slam the Demon through it, but he fights off and takes out both Usos, Powerbombing Jey through the announce table, before Reigns wipes him out with a Spear through the barricade.

The red lights are flashing on and off like they’re Finn’s heartbeat. He then rises back to life. Balor’s theme is playing and the lights are all red. I… erm…

What?

What am I watching?

The Demon is getting spooky powers and his theme is playing and the lights are red. He’s getting all fired up from his theme playing like it’s a god damn anime. What on earth.,,

Balor goes up to the top rope, but the top rope completely snaps. Roman then Spears him to retain.

I’m honest to god at a loss for words. I can not explain in words what just happened on this pay-per-view.

I erm… match was really good but erm…

SmackDown Women's Championship

Becky

Becky vs Bianca is on now. Becky got her big match whites on tonight. Becky offers her hand out to Bianca, but Bianca tries to attack her. Becky goes to drop Bianca with the Manhandle Slam early, but Bianca fights out and hoists Becky up for the K.O.D, but Becky slides away.

Bianca takes Becky down and she rolls away for a time out. Michael Cole says that Becky is thinking “what have I got myself into” but Becky hears him and tells him that’s not what she is thinking, and that she has a plan.

Bianca takes control, hoisting Becky up for a stalling suplex. Bianca goes for the 10 punches, but Becky slides under and yanks her by the braid. Becky and Bianca get into a tug of war over Bianca’s braid as the referee begins to count. I have so little faith in WWE that I genuinely thought that could have been the finish.

Becky locks in the Dis-Arm-Her but Bianca gets to the ropes. Becky drives Bianca into the steps on the outside and hits a top rope Leg Drop for a two. Becky goes for a Dis-Arm-Her again but Bianca powers her up for a Spinebuster for a two count. Becky goes for the Manhandle Slam but Bianca rolls through. Becky locks in the Dis-Arm-Her but Bianca hoists her up into position for the K.O.D, but Sasha Banks runs out to make her return and attacks Bianca for the DQ.

Sasha and Becky have a staredown before Sasha takes Becky down. Bianca tries to fight off Sasha but she gets dropped, before Sasha also drops Becky.

2:42am

United States Championship

Damian Priest

Heyman is on the phone when Kayla slides into frame. Kayla asks who is on the phone, but obviously Heyman doesn’t tell her.

Triple Threat match is up now. This is also technically no DQ, so that’s two no DQ matches on this show at least. Should be a good one here.

Sheamus wipes Hardy out right out of the gate. Priest starts hitting Sheamus Beats of the Bodhran on him, but Sheamus fights out anf goes for his own, but Hardy is there to stop him.

Jeff and Priest have a sloppy reversal of the Reckoning, but Hardy improvises well by turning it into a sleeper instead of what I assume was supposed to be a Twist of Fate. Sheamus shoves Jeff off the top rope when he goes for the Swanton. Sheamus goes up top and mocks Jeff before hitting a knee drop.

Priest goes for the cover after the South of Heaven, but Jeff breaks it up with a Swanton Bomb. Jeff is SUPER over here in Columbus. Jeff goes on a flurry of offence and the crowd loses their mind at all the covers. Sheamus drops him with a Brogue Kick before Priest rolls up Sheamus to retain.

Priest and Jeff hug each other and celebrate after the match.

Raw Women's Championship Match

Alexa

Alexa Bliss vs Charlotte Flair is up now. Alexa is playing her mind games early against Charlotte, who is rocking Venom inspired gear.

Charlotte wipes Alexa out by whipping her into the barricade. She drops Alexa with Natural Selection, but Alexa rolls through to avoid the move. Alexa hits a really sweet looking code red for a nearfall.

Alexa goes for Twisted Bliss but Charlotte avoids it. She goes for the Figure 8 but Alexa rolls her through for a nearfall. Alexa nails the DDT but Charlotte gets her foot on the rope.

Chalotte grabs Lilly to distract Alexa, before dropping her with Natural Selection to retain the title. Charlotte rips Lilly into pieces after the match. RIP Lilly. Alexa attacks Charlotte for ripping up her doll, but Charlotte drops her.

Charlotte leaves but Alexa gets back to her feet and stares at the destroyed doll before screaming and crying. She cries and picks Lilly up. “Thank you Lilly” chants.

1:50am

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match

Main Event Montez

SmackDown Tag Team title match now. Dawkins is here and he’s mouthing off to the Usos, fam.

Pat McAfee makes a comment about Ford being dominated like the European Ryder Cup team. I do not appreciate the reminder, Pat.

Ford fights to make the hot tag to Dawkins, and eventually gets there to a big reaction. Dawks catches a flying Uso and swats the other as he goes for the dive. The crowd wants tables. Dawkins hits a Superplex into a Butterfly Suplex. Angelo Dawkins hit that.

Jey drops Dawkins with a Superkick, followed by a Splash from Jimmy, but DAWKINS KICKS OUT! WHAT?? Ford hits a big dive to the outside over the ring post on both Usos. He hits the big Frog Splash on Jey, but Jimmy breaks it up at the last second. This match rules!

Ford gets dropped by a Double Superkick, followed by a Double Splash to retain the titles for the Usos in a fantastic match.

Six-Man Tag

Big E

The New Day are out first for the newly announced six-man tag team opener. Apparently the Peacock stream is now overlapping the French announce team with the English one. I must once again thank the lord that we do not have Peacock in the United Kingdom.

Kofi and AJ are opening up. Kofi is really popular, but Big E wants in. Crowd loves all of New Day here in Columbus. Omos is now legal with Kingston. Omos holds Kofi up high for a Suplex, and then tags in AJ, because plot armor. Lashley is now in hammering away at Kofi.

Big E gets the hot tag and runs wild on AJ Styles. Crowd is really hot for this opener. Kofi drops AJ with an aided Double Stomp, but Lashley breaks it up and tags himself in. Lashley goes to lock in the Hurt Lock, but AJ tags himself in, Lashley tags himself back in and accidentally Spears AJ. Big E drops Lashley with a Big Ending to win a really fun opener.

Liv vs Carmella

Liv

There was a fight backstage that led to them making New Day vs Omos, AJ and Lashley tonight.

Carmella has a microphone before the kickoff match. She says that Liv is jealous of her beautiful face or something.

Apparently the Peacock stream is playing both Spanish and English announcers at the same time, but I can not confirm as I am a Brit and we still have the GOOD WWE Network.

Liv defeats Carmella with the Ob-Liv-Ion to score the win on the Kickoff show.
