Lyra Valkyria turned heel and attacked Bayley during today’s episode of WWE Raw live from London, England.
Valkyria and Bayley, who have been together as a team for over a year now, challenged Paige and Brie Bella for the Women’s Tag Team Championship on Raw today.
Having come up unsuccessful on multiple occasions while challenging for the WWE Women’s Tag Title, once again, Valkyria and Bayley filed in their attempt to become champions together.
After the match, Bayley attempted to console Valkyria and encouraged her that they’ll get another title shot down the line.
However, Valkyria exploded not once but twice at Bayley and ambushed her out of frustration after yet another failed attempt at winning title gold.
When Jackie Redmond attempted to interview Valkyria backstage afterwards, Valkyria stormed off instead.
This looks to signal an official heel turn for Valkyria and sets up a big match between the two, which could take place at an upcoming event like SummerSlam unless WWE chooses to do it on TV instead.

Is Lyra Valkyria Turning Heel The Right Move?
Out of the two, a lot of people probably would have predicted Bayley to turn heel on Lyra Valkyria rather than the other way around considering the dynamic throughout their time as a team.
On the surface, that means at least WWE has done something against the grain and somewhat surprising in the short term, which doesn’t seem to be happening very often nowadays.
However, there are definite question marks over the long term future of Valkyria as a heel – just because she excels so much in the underdog babyface role and does such a good job of getting fans behind her.
However, there are plenty of examples of talents like that who turned heel and ended up being great heels too, including Sami Zayn and even Bayley herself.
Valkyria is a great talent and is definitely capable of making it work, but time will tell whether it ends up being better than her continuing as a babyface.
She did spend some time as a heel during her pre-WWE days, so she has experience in the role as well which will only help.
