A big spoiler has emerged on upcoming plans for Roman Reigns and the Bloodline in WWE coming out of Money in the Bank.
At Money in the Bank, Reigns was pinned for the first time since December 2019 when Jey Uso scored the win for the Usos against Reigns and Solo Sikoa.
Obviously that’s a huge milestone in the years-long Reigns/Bloodline saga, and the question is, what’s next?
Well, WWE’s next big event is SummerSlam, and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has revealed what’s currently planned for that show.
According to Meltzer, the planned opponent for Reigns at SummerSlam is indeed Jey Uso, so TV over the next few weeks will be heading in that direction.
As for whether Jey could beat Reigns again and actually win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, it isn’t looking particularly likely.
Meltzer also reported after Money in the Bank that the current plan for WrestleMania 40 next April is a rematch between Reigns and Cody Rhodes – the likely destination for Rhodes to finally dethrone Reigns and win the title.
It’s not impossible for Reigns to drop the title and win it back by then, but after all this time of him holding it uninterrupted, it would probably be a bit silly.
So, the next direction for the Bloodline seems to be Reigns vs Jey at SummerSlam with Reigns probably retaining.
