The wrestling world is still in mourning of the tragic passing of ROH World Tag Team Champion Jay Briscoe (Jamin Pugh) last Tuesday (January 17).
On tonight’s AEW Dynamite show, Mark Briscoe made his AEW debut, taking on his chosen opponent, Jay Lethal, in a match to honor the career and life of Jay Briscoe.
The Briscoes were previously banned from appearing on Dynamite due to an edict from Warner Bros Discovery, which has since been redacted by the company.
The match saw Tony Schiavone and Taz leave, with ROH announcers Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman stepping in to join Excalibur at the announce desk.
The emotional match saw Mark Briscoe and Jay Lethal go at it, with Mark picking up the victory with the Jay Driller.
After the match, the entire AEW locker room came out on stage to applaud Mark and Jay after the match, including hugs from both Christopher Daniels and Tony Khan.
