At GCW Homecoming night one, former WWE star Matt Cardona defeated Nick Gage to become GCW World Champion.
Cardona gained control of the brutal match early on, before Gage went on to use light tubes and pizza cutters on the IMPACT star throughout the contest.
Ultimately, the 44.OH! faction ran down to attack Gage. Rickey Shane Page joined the former champion in fighting off the stable before turning on Gage. Shortly after, Cardona pinned Gage to become the new champion.
Following the pin, the crowd showered Cardona with trash, before the new titleholder made a swift exit with the gold.
