Former TNT Champion Miro has provided an update on his AEW status amid his current absence from the company in 2024.
At AEW Worlds End, Miro defeated Andrade El Idolo after his wife CJ Perry betrayed her client to help her husband win.
Since the bout, “The Redeemer” has been absent from AEW programming. This has led to many fans questioning and wondering when they will see his return.
In a new interview with Bill Apter of Sportskeeda Wrestlebinge filmed during WrestleCon in Philadelphia, Miro stated that he is recovering from a shoulder injury and an elbow injury, but hopes to come back stronger than ever. He said:
“I have a shoulder injury and an elbow injury that occurred late last year, so finally took care of it late January.”
“Got a whole bunch of shots and now I’m recovering, rehabbing, and come back stronger than ever.”
The former Rusev also mentioned that he has his sights set on challenging TNT Champion Adam Copeland upon his return to All Elite Wrestling in this interview.
Miro first mentioned his injury when Tony Khan stated that he wanted “The Redeemer” and Keith Lee for the “Meat Madness” Match at AEW Revolution. He replied to state that he was injured and that’s why he could not compete.
Miro also found himself in the headlines after he and his long-time partner CJ Perry announced that they had separated, which you can read at this link.
WrestleTalk will provide any further updates on Miro’s AEW status when they become available.
