Real Reason MJF Vs. Kenny Omega Wasn’t On PPV? AEW

AEW World Champion MJF faced Kenny Omega in a ‘title vs streak’ match on television instead of pay-per-view and the reason has been revealed.

Not only did the match not take place on a pay-per-view, it didn’t even take place on AEW Dynamite.

The match was on the October 28 episode of AEW Collision and highlights are below this news story.

As for why Tony Khan placed the match on the Saturday night show, MJF has revealed the answer to Sports Illustrated, saying:

“I wanted a match with Kenny Omega, the best in the world in a pay-per-view main event–but on free television because I’m salt of the earth.

“That is the best match in Collision history, and it’s one of the best matches in AEW history.

2It was a really big deal for the company, and it really felt like the handing of the baton of who the top dog, bell-to-bell is in AEW.

“I couldn’t be more grateful that Kenny gave me that opportunity.”

MJF would also address his future with AEW, saying that Tony Khan is “definitely trying his hardest to keep” him in the company.

His current contract ends in 2024, he also addressed his objective from the ‘bidding war’ that’s expected between AEW and WWE.
