AEW World Champion MJF has discussed a potential move to WWE as his reported contract expiration draws nearer.
The future of AEW World Champion MJF is said to be up in the air as we head towards the new year, with him publicly revealing the expiration date of his contract with AEW.
MJF has spoken about a ‘bidding war of 2024’ on TV for many years at this point, with MJF claiming that his AEW contract is set to expire at the turn of the new year.
When MJF cut his worked shoot promo on Tony Khan and AEW back in June 2022, he claimed that he received a pay rise. but not an extension to his deal, that he is still claiming is set to expire next year.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated, MJF discussed a potential move to WWE at the end of his contract, noting that there are ‘things he likes’ about both companies.
He said:
“Tony Khan is definitely trying his hardest to keep me here. There are a lot of things about All Elite Wrestling that I like, but there’s also a lot of things about WWE that I like. What I’m most interested in is money.”
MJF is set to defend the AEW World Championship against Jay White at AEW Full Gear on Saturday night.
