AEW World Champion and co-holder of the ROH World Tag Team Championships MJF has reacted to the official announcement of his match for AEW All Out 2023 on September 3.
Following MJF and Adam Cole’s victory over Aussie Open at the All In London, it was announced on Dynamite that ‘Better Than You, Bay-Bay’ will defend the ROH World Tag Team Champions at All Out.
The #1 contenders were determined on AEW Rampage (September 1), with Alex Reynolds and John Silver of the Dark Order coming out victorious in a battle royal to earn a title match this weekend.
In reaction to Dark Order’s win, MJF took to Twitter to immediately discount the chances of the new number one contenders, making a humorous reference to 1996 classic movie Space Jam in the process.
MJF tweeted:
These two herbs are about to get Double clotheslined harder than a Mack truck.
This is gonna be like the entire roster of the 96 bulls vs Newman in Space Jam.
Despite MJF and his BFF Adam Cole remaining on the same page after their main event match at All In, tensions between Cole and his former teammates The Kingdom (Mike Bennett & Matt Taven) and Roderick Strong have reached breaking point.
With Roderick Strong announcing that he will be entering the upcoming AEW World Championship eliminator tournament to decide MJF’s next challenger, there has been a lot of speculation about the direction this story will go after Sunday’s All Out.
