Name Speculated To Be Joining WWE Announces New Wrestling Promotion WWE

A name that has been speculated to be joining WWE, Rossy Ogawa has announced a new wrestling promotion following his exit from STARDOM.

On February 4, STARDOM co-founder and executive producer Rossy Ogawa had his contract with the promotion terminated.

In the press release citing the termination, STARDOM and Bushiroad noted Ogawa’s alleged poaching of talent and staff as the reason why he was being let go.

Following the news, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp mentioned that a current rumor was that Ogawa was WWE-bound after his departure from STARDOM.

In a new interview with Tokyo Sports, Rossy Ogawa gave his side of the story and revealed that he plans on starting a new promotion following his exit from STARDOM.

To close the February 4 STARDOM 13th Anniversary Supreme Fight 2024 show, there was a group photo taken with Ogawa included. On being informed shortly after the photo, Rossy said:

“Suddenly, after the match, I was told, ‘Your contract is terminated today.’ They put me in a cab and sent me on my way.”

In November 2023, Ogawa claims that he informed STARDOM that he intended on leaving the promotion in the spring of 2024. Confirming his plans to launch a new promotion, Ogawa said:

“A new organization? That’s right. I want to do the things that we can’t do here (at STARDOM/Bushiroad).”

“There are quite a few things that can’t be done here. Because we are a big corporation, we can’t do everything.”

When it comes to the alleged poaching of talent and staff, Ogawa claims that it did not come from his side. On a lot of wrestlers wanting to join his new promotion when they heard about it, Rossy stated:

“We didn’t do it (poaching of STARDOM’s talent & staff). There were a lot of wrestlers who heard rumors and wanted to come here (to the new organization)…”

“However, President Taro Okada was ‘OK’ (with the new organization)…”
