Kicking off NBA All Star Weekend 2023 on TNT, AEW Rampage celebrated with a basketball themed trios title match.
While All Star Weekend might be coming to NBA fans from Utah, AEW is still in Laredo, Texas as tonight’s Rampage was filmed after Dynamite on February 15.
With fun and innovative offense throughout the match from both the Elite and Top Flight with A.R. Fox, there was one unique feature.
“Apparently basketballs are legal in this match,” Jericho said on commentary after basketballs factored into big spots throughout the match.
In the end it was the Elite who came out on top to retain their AEW Trios Championships after a One Winged Angel from Kenny Omega to Darius Martin for the pinfall victory.
While there were some more fun basketball shenanigans ensuing in the ring to celebrate, a shock as the lights cut to black.
On the ramp, Brody King and Malakai Black who were briefly illuminated but then with the lights off, by the time they came back on, House of Black were gone!
