Special Guest Asked Six Weeks Ahead Of Time To Attend WWE Fastlane WWE

A NBA All Star asked their head coach six weeks ahead of time to attend WWE Fastlane.

Whenever WWE visits a city, there will typically be some athletes of the local team depending on their schedule in their individual sports.

With the company visiting Indianapolis for WWE Fastlane, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a star player from the Colts or Pacers. However, the NFL season is underway, while NBA pre-season just kicked off.

This is why it surprised many fans to see Indiana Pacers all-star point guard Tyrese Haliburton not only in the front row for the October 7 premium live event, but also asking a question to Bayley during the post-show press conference.

In a story in the IndyStar, Dustin Dopirak discussed Haliburton attending Fastlane and noted that it was six weeks ago that the Indiana Pacers star asked his head coach Rick Carlisle about going to the show. He wrote:

“So Haliburton asked Rick Carlisle six weeks ago if he could travel to Memphis separately and still make the event, and Carlisle approved the plans for his All-Star point guard and the face of his franchise.”

Haliburton spoke with the reporter to explain his fandom of pro wrestling and WWE, saying:

“My uncle Gary, he’s deceased now, but when I was a kid, he used to come to my house and we’d always watch it together.”

“Every time I think about it, I think of my uncle Gary. He knew my mom would pay for the pay-per-views if I cried hard enough for it.”

“It’s just a memory I have with him. And my dad always took me whenever they came to Wisconsin. Every WWE event, I always take my dad…”
