New NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Crowned At Alwayz Ready

A new NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion was crowned during Saturday’s (June 11) Alwayz Ready pay-per-view.

Ahead of the event, champion Matt Cardona underwent surgery to fix his torn bicep.

During the show, Cardona reluctantly relinquished the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title, before Trevor Murdoch, Nick Aldis, Sam Shaw (fka WWE’s Dexter Lumis) and Thom Latimer faced off in a fourway bout for the gold.

Murdoch ultimately won the title, pinning Aldis after a top rope bulldog.

This marks the beginning of Murdoch’s second reign with the gold, with Murdoch notably being the star that Cardona defeated for the title on the March 8 edition of NWA Powerrr.

Other titles that changed hands during the event included the NWA World Tag Team Championship, which was won by the Commonwealth Connection, and the NWA World Women’s Tag Team Title, which went home with Pretty Empowered.
