A brand new NXT star has just made their debut in a soon to be televised match ahead of tonight’s NXT taping.
Kelani Jordan (Lea Mitchell) is set for an NXT Level Up debut on this Friday’s edition of the show after having a match at the taping tonight.
She faced Wendy Choo.
This isn’t Jordan’s first match however as she has already had numerous big ones in front of NXT live crowds at house shows.
Seeing singles action against Zoey Stark and Cora Jade, she has also tagged with top babyfaces Roxanne Perez and the recently called-up Indi Hartwell.
She’s also actually appeared on NXT TV before but only as an unidentified background character, including in a Chase U segment on tonight’s NXT.
Kelani Jordan (real name Lea Mitchell) is another example of WWE’s recruitment strategy involving former collegiate athletes.
Mitchell was a superstar for the Michigan State gymnastics team from 2018-2022 including leading the Spartans to NCAA Regionals in 2022.
Elsewhere on tonight’s NXT (May 9) the NXT Women’s Championship Tournament kicks off as NXT looks to replace departed champion, Indi Hartwell.
Tiffany Stratton bested Gigi Dolin to advance in the NXT Women’s Championship tournament in the first match of the night.
