New WWE Commentary Team Confirmed? WWE

Another new regular WWE commentary team may have been confirmed following a recent announcer and broadcaster shakeup.

A few weeks ago, the release of Kevin Patrick and return of Pat McAfee led to changes to the commentary teams for both Raw and SmackDown.

The Raw team is now Michael Cole and Pat McAfee, while the SmackDown team is Corey Graves and Wade Barrett – the NXT team has remained Vic Joseph and Booker T, although Booker is currently out for medical reasons with Byron Saxton set to fill in until he’s back.

Speaking of Saxton, he’s also ended up having his main roster backstage interviewer position altered, which has had a knock-on effect for another commentary team.

Cathy Kelley and Byron Saxton look to have switched brands over the past couple of weeks, with Kelley now on Raw and Saxton on SmackDown.

With WWE Main Event being taped right before Raw, Saxton was on the Main Event announce team alongside Blake Howard, but now that Saxton is no longer at Raw tapings at all, that’s changed.

For the past two weeks, the team calling Main Event has instead been Blake Howard and ‘Road Dogg’ Brian James – given that it’s been two weeks and not just a one-off, this looks to be the new team for Main Event, at least for the time being.

James did call an episode of SmackDown a couple of months ago when Corey Graves was on leave after the birth of his and Carmella’s child.
