Two new WWE stars made their TV debuts tonight as NXT Level Up featured two first in-ring appearances on broadcast.
On tonight’s NXT Level Up on Peacock, two new WWE stars made their in-ring debuts on TV.
Opening the show, Tavion Heights took on the debuting Saquon Shugars in the latter’s in-ring debut.
While he may be new to the NXT roster, Shugars is not new to professional wrestling.
Saquon Shugars is the new WWE name for former indie wrestler Lucky Ali, who joined NXT at the start of the year.
Shugars lost to Heights in the match.
Also making her in-ring debut, Lainey Reed was described as a ‘sweet, Southern belle’ in her in-ring debut against Jaida Parker.
In the end, Reed lost the match to the O.T.M. star Parker.
While Uriah Connors – the son of Fit Finlay – featured in a fast match on NXT TV a couple of weeks ago, losing quickly to Shawn Spears, he had a more evenly matched bout tonight on Level Up.
Taking on Eddy Thorpe there was reference to their shared past albeit without specifically naming the promotion.
Referring to NJPW’s LA Dojo as ‘training together at a dojo out in Los Angeles,’ there was acknowledgment of their shared history in the wrestling scene.
In the end, Eddy Thorpe picked up the victory over Connors.
