The new name for an up-and-coming WWE tag team has seemingly been revealed as they look to climb up the roster.
Last night’s November 10 episode of NXT Level Up played host to a tag match with Mark Coffey and Wolfgang of Gallus up against Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe.
Dupont and Igwe have only had a small handful of matches on Level Up, but it looks like they may have established a new name.
In a backstage interview ahead of their match, Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe made a point to emphatically and repeatedly call themselves “TNT”.
None of the official graphics or listings had them called TNT, but at the very least, it’s what they’re using as their nickname.
Of course, there may be a couple of things stopping it from being an “official” name, such as the TNT network which is the home of AEW.
D-Von Dudley’s real-life sons, Terrence and Terrell Hughes, had been calling themselves TNT, but stopped doing so in their AEW matches when they were working Dark and Elevation.
So it remains to be seen if it becomes official for Tyson and Tyriek, but it’s absolutely what they’re referring to themselves as.
‘TNT’ have yet to win a match in WWE during their time on NXT Level Up, and obviously they haven’t featured on NXT TV yet.
In the other match on Level Up last night, Gigi Dolin beat Stevie Turner.
Nothing would make @_Tysonwwe_ & @TyriekIgwe_WWE happier than to get a win over the former #WWENXT Tag Team Champions, Gallus, tonight! #NXTLevelUp pic.twitter.com/skJp45DbKi
