*** UPDATE – WWE has denied that Nick Khan has been a key driving force behind the releases ***
Fightful Select is reporting that Nick Khan led a meeting early this afternoon where he made decisions about the releases we have seen today.
The site also reported that Khan is “willing to take the heat” for the cuts and didn’t appear to be too concerned about the plans WWE had for the wrestlers, the other projects they were working on, who the person was married to or any other factors.
Fightful is also reporting that “several names” that the company was planning on releasing haven’t ended up being let go yet.
However, they note that wrestlers have been “saved” from being released at various points this year, despite being on the “chopping block”.
